JAMSHEDPUR – A central team led by Joint Secretary Ravishank from the Ministry of Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs inspected the Jharkhand State Food Corporation Limited warehouse facility in Bahragora on Wednesday.

The inspection team thoroughly examined the storage conditions of rice and wheat. They reviewed stock registers and departmental records meticulously. Moreover, the team assessed the overall management of food grain distribution.

Joint Secretary Ravishank expressed satisfaction after reviewing the stock register status. He confirmed the complete distribution of rations for June, July and August months. However, the team also identified areas requiring improvement.

The central officials examined the quality of stored grains during their visit. They evaluated security arrangements and storage protocols at the facility. Besides, the team checked compliance with food safety standards.

Several important directives were issued during the inspection process. Priority was given to drainage system development and internal road construction. Meanwhile, warehouse officials received specific instructions for operational improvements.

The warehouse in-charge was directed to ensure proper training for staff members. This training aims to maintain systematic warehouse operations effectively. Furthermore, officials emphasized the importance of regular capacity building programs.

Instructions were given for painting and whitewashing the warehouse premises. The team stressed maintaining cleanliness and proper upkeep of facilities. Additionally, aesthetic improvements were recommended for the complex.

District Food Supply Officer Salman Jafar Khijri attended the inspection. Block Development Officer Keshav Bharti was also present during the visit. Moreover, Circle Officer Rajaram Singh Munda participated in the proceedings.

Block Supply Officer Satyawan Maiti joined other departmental staff members. They provided detailed information about warehouse operations to the team. However, specific challenges were also discussed during the meeting.

The central team appreciated the systematic maintenance of stock records. They noted the proper documentation of grain movement and distribution. On the other hand, some operational aspects required immediate attention.

Warehouse officials briefed the team about monthly distribution targets. They explained the mechanism for ensuring timely supply to beneficiaries. Besides, quality control measures were discussed in detail.

The inspection covered various aspects of warehouse management including pest control. Fire safety arrangements and security protocols were thoroughly reviewed. Meanwhile, storage capacity utilization was also evaluated.

Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining food grain quality standards. They stressed adherence to scientific storage practices and temperature control. Additionally, proper ventilation systems were deemed essential.

The team’s visit reflects the central government’s commitment to food security. Regular inspections ensure effective implementation of public distribution schemes. Furthermore, such reviews help identify best practices for replication.
