JAMSHEDPUR – The East Singhbhum district administration has issued a public warning about cyber fraudsters using Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi’s profile photo to demand money through WhatsApp messages.

Unknown individuals are pressuring people to send money online. They are misusing the DC’s official photograph for fraudulent activities.

However, the district administration considers this activity as cyber fraud. Officials have appealed to citizens to remain vigilant against such attempts.

Moreover, people should not fall for such calls or messages. Citizens must avoid sharing personal information with unknown persons.

In addition, the administration strictly warns against money transfers. The fraudulent scheme appears to be well-organized and systematic.

District officials describe the activity as a planned cyber fraud operation. The administration emphasizes the need for public awareness about such scams.

Furthermore, citizens should stay alert and protect themselves from fraud attempts. The district administration released Press Release 413/2025 on July 9, 2025.

Cyber fraud cases have increased significantly across India in recent years. Fraudsters often use fake profiles of government officials to gain public trust.

On the other hand, such scams target vulnerable citizens through social media platforms. WhatsApp remains a popular medium for cyber criminals to execute fraud schemes.

Besides, the East Singhbhum administration maintains active communication with citizens. The district PRD team regularly issues awareness messages about cyber security.

The administration encourages people to report suspicious activities immediately. Citizens can contact local police or cyber crime cells for assistance.
