Thieves Steal Over Rs 10 Lakh Worth Jewelry from Adityapur Home

Family Away for Daughter’s Marriage Proposal Returns to Find House Burgled

Key Points:

  • Over Rs 10 lakh jewelry and Rs 25,000 cash stolen
  • Car also taken from Sanjay Modi’s residence
  • Rising theft incidents pose challenge for Adityapur police

JAMSHEDPUR – Thieves broke into a house in Adityapur area and stole jewelry worth over Rs 10 lakh along with cash and a car while the family was away for marriage-related work.

The incident occurred at the residence of Sanjay Modi on Road Number 6 near Pan Dukan Chowk. The family had been away for 10-12 days for their daughter’s marriage proposal. However, they returned to find their house completely ransacked.

Police reached the location after receiving information about the burglary. Officers have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Moreover, the family is devastated by the significant financial loss.

“All the jewelry prepared for my daughter’s wedding has been stolen,” Modi told investigators. The thieves targeted valuable ornaments specifically meant for the upcoming marriage ceremony. Besides, they also took approximately Rs 25,000 in cash from the house.

The burglars did not limit themselves to jewelry and money. They also stole the family’s car from the premises. Additionally, other household items may have been taken during the break-in.

Modi suspects that someone known to the family is involved. He believes the thieves had inside information about the family’s absence. Furthermore, they knew about the valuable jewelry stored in the house.

The timing of the theft raises serious concerns about surveillance. The family had been away for nearly two weeks. Meanwhile, the perpetrators had ample time to plan and execute the burglary.

Adityapur area has witnessed a surge in theft incidents recently. Police are facing increasing challenges in controlling such crimes. In contrast, criminals seem to be getting bolder in their operations.

The investigation team is examining all possible leads in the case. They are questioning neighbors and local residents for information. However, solving the case requires comprehensive evidence gathering.

Property crimes have become a major concern for residents. Many families fear leaving their homes unattended for extended periods. On the other hand, police are working to improve security measures.
