JAMSHEDPUR – Stone pelting incidents on two trains near Tatanagar have left one passenger injured and caused significant damage.
The first attack targeted the Nanded-Santragachhi train between Barigoda and Govindpur stations. A passenger in the S-1 sleeper coach sustained a head injury.
Medical staff provided immediate treatment to the injured passenger. The train resumed its journey after necessary medical attention.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred near Chaibasa around 3:35 PM. Stones shattered three windows in the C-3 coach of Tatanagar-Berhampur train.
Pattern of Attacks
Similar incidents have plagued the region in recent months. The Utkal Express faced an attack near Chakradharpur last week.
Moreover, the Steel Express encountered stone pelting between Galudih and Rakhamines. The prestigious Vande Bharat trains have also been targeted multiple times.
Safety Measures Demanded
“These repeated attacks pose serious risks to passenger safety,” warned a railway safety expert.
Furthermore, local passenger associations are demanding enhanced security measures along vulnerable stretches.
However, railway authorities have yet to implement comprehensive security solutions. Regular patrolling and surveillance need immediate attention.
