SERAIKELA – A road safety awareness rally, led by District Transport Officer (DTO) Girja Shankar Mahato, was conducted from the NR Plus-Two School campus. The initiative involved students and officials walking through key areas, spreading slogans to promote safer roads and adherence to traffic rules.
Focus on Safety Practices
The rally traversed main roads, including the Sadar Hospital Guest House area, before concluding at the school. Participants raised awareness about essential practices, such as wearing helmets for two-wheelers, using seat belts in cars, and refraining from phone use or drunk driving while on the road.
DTO Mahato educated students about road safety measures, including controlling vehicle speed, ensuring vehicle capacity adherence, and responding responsibly to accident victims by taking them to nearby hospitals.
Engaging the Public
Participants highlighted messages through slogans like “Adopt traffic rules, make Jharkhand a safe state.” A focus was placed on community involvement, with DTO Mahato stressing the importance of becoming responsible citizens.
Commitment Through Pledge
At the event’s conclusion, all attendees took an oath to promote road safety and traffic responsibility. DTO Mahato emphasized using street performances, like nukkad nataks, to further engage the public.
Prominent attendees included District Road Safety Manager Kundan Verma, Principal of NR School, Road Engineering Analyst Ashutosh Kumar Singh, and other officials, such as MBI Dilip Kumar and Ravi Prasad, who contributed to the event’s success.
