JAMSHEDPUR – Joint security forces have recovered a massive cache of explosives during an anti-Maoist operation in West Singhbhum’s Saranda region.
The operation followed specific intelligence inputs. Meanwhile, forces discovered the explosives near Serengdanga village under Toklo police station.
Strategic Operation
The joint action involved West Singhbhum Police and CRPF personnel. Moreover, the teams conducted intensive searches for three days.
Information suggested senior Maoist leaders were camping in the area. However, the militants had fled before the forces arrived.
Explosive Recovery
The forces discovered 12 IEDs weighing two kilograms each. In addition, nine one-kilogram IEDs were also recovered.
SP Ashutosh Shekhar confirmed the significance of the recovery. Furthermore, the defusal created a ten-feet deep crater.
Expert Assessment
The explosives were strategically planted in series. On the other hand, experts highlighted the devastating potential of the cache.
“The recovery has prevented a major security threat,” stated a senior police official. Besides, the operation dealt a blow to Maoist capabilities.
