Swavalambi Jharkhand Distributes Microloans to 100 Women

Swavalambi Jharkhand facilitates financial empowerment by distributing Rs 30 lakh in microloans to 100 women.

Swavalambi Jharkhand Micro Welfare Development Center (SJMDC) organized a microloan distribution ceremony at Tulsi Bhavan, Bistupur, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 5:00 PM.

JAMSHEDPUR – Swavalambi Jharkhand, affiliated with the Centre for Bharatiya Marketing Development (CBMD), distributed Rs 30 lakh in microloans to 100 needy women during a ceremony held on Thursday evening.

Swavalambi Director Ashok Goyal shared this information during his welcome speech.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by the guests.

Chief guest, MP Vidyut Varan Mahato, praised Swavalambi Jharkhand’s efforts, highlighting the project’s commendable and remarkable work over the past 12 years.

He noted that the initiative has been successfully running without financial gain, aiming to uplift women.

Mahato mentioned that the new women beneficiaries would use these loans to start small businesses, contributing economically to their families and becoming self-reliant.

He cited the example of the Rahargoda Self Help Group, emphasizing that such projects are a great means for women who wish to advance and become independent in society.

Mahato also pointed out that approximately 92 lakh Self Help Groups are active today, with a goal set by the Prime Minister to increase this number to 3 crore to boost the economy and achieve the dream of becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission East Zone member and project director also praised the initiative, stating that loan distribution is usually handled by the government or banks occasionally.

However, this initiative by a social organization in Jamshedpur is a first.

Swavalambi Jharkhand is fulfilling a crucial role by providing small loans that banks often find challenging to grant, helping women become self-sufficient and contribute to the economy.

The project began in 2012 and continues successfully with community support.

The goal for the next financial year is to distribute loans exceeding one crore rupees, enabling more women to contribute to society and the country.

As India progresses towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, it’s crucial that the country’s women start their entrepreneurial ventures.

RSS leader V. Natarajan, a special guest, also commended Swavalambi Jharkhand’s efforts, urging capable individuals in society to support such initiatives.

Project Senior Director Murlidhar Kedia, in his presidential address, urged women to use the loan money wisely for their businesses and not for unnecessary household expenses.

He emphasized using the earnings from these ventures for their children’s education and health.

Kedia thanked the women members for their cooperation in repaying the loans on time, allowing the organization to redistribute funds to other members, ensuring the project’s growth.

Bandeshankar Singh of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, who also serves as the organization’s director, managed the stage and addressed the members.

J.K.M. Raju, the department coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by former Kolhan Commissioner Vijay Kumar Singh, Joint GST Commissioner Chedilal Sharma, Kusum Purti, Manju Thakur, Rajpati Devi, Amit Mishra, Pankaj Singh, social worker Munna Singh, entrepreneur Manoj Sinha, Gaurav Shankar, Rajkumar Sah, KP Chaudhary, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vikas Sahni, Kanchan Singh, Kiranjeet Kaur, Rajaram, Sonu Thakur, Abhishek Bajaj, Sanjeet Pramanik, Mukesh Kumar, Adarsh Kumar, Ravi Mishra, Ghanshyam Das, Devi Prasad, and many other members.
