MEDININAGAR – In the Pandey gang war case, Palamu police have sent Nishi Pandey and Nishant Singh to Palamu Central Jail after their remand period ended. The two were arrested earlier from Ramgarh and had been under police interrogation for five days.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned the suspects about the January 5 double murder in Garda village, Channelpur. The killings, executed in a cinematic style, claimed the lives of gangsters Bharat Pandey and Deepak Saw. Both victims had reportedly formed a rival gang after leaving the Pandey group.
Insights from Interrogation
During the interrogation, the suspects disclosed that the Pandey gang is now operated by Vikas Tiwari. Palamu Superintendent of Police, Reeshma Rameshan, confirmed the ongoing crackdown on the shooters involved in the incident. Police have conducted raids in several areas to apprehend the culprits.
Background of the Gang Rivalry
The rivalry stemmed from Bharat Pandey and Deepak Saw’s decision to establish their own gang in the coal-rich regions, which led to a power struggle. On December 31, 2024, the duo stayed at a relative’s house in Garda village, where they were fatally shot. An FIR was registered by Bharat Pandey’s father, naming Nishi Pandey, Nishant Singh, and nine others.
Continued Investigation
The police have intensified their efforts to capture all individuals involved. The case highlights the ongoing gang rivalries and the challenges of maintaining law and order in the region.
