RANCHI – The Jharkhand Congress Disciplinary Committee has issued show-cause notices to 19 party leaders over allegations of anti-party activities during recent assembly elections.
Committee chairman Brajendra Prasad Singh held an urgent meeting at the party headquarters. The meeting focused on complaints of indiscipline.
“We will take strict action against those found working against party interests,” Singh stated firmly.
Districts Under Scanner
The notices targeted leaders from four districts. These included Palamu, Dhanbad, Latehar, and Lohardagga.
Committee coordinator Amulya Neeraj Khalko participated in the discussions. Meanwhile, member Anadi Brahma also attended the crucial meeting.
Key Leaders Facing Action
Several prominent local leaders received the notices. Among them was Dhanbad Jharia block president Imtiyaz Ali.
On the other hand, Latehar leaders Pappu Paswan and Salam Ansari faced questions. Moreover, Lohardagga’s Nisar Ahmed and Salim Ansari came under scrutiny.
History of Internal Conflicts
The Congress party had faced similar challenges in 2019. Back then, several leaders were suspended for anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, the state unit has been dealing with factionalism. Internal conflicts have affected party performance in recent elections.
“The party constitution has clear guidelines about disciplinary matters,” a senior party official explained.
