Jharkhand to Launch Four Zoo Safaris Across Major Wildlife Sanctuaries

Rs 800 Crore Project to Boost Eco-tourism in State Wildlife Parks

RANCHI – The Jharkhand government has unveiled plans to develop four zoo safaris across major wildlife sanctuaries to promote eco-tourism and wildlife experiences.

The Tourism Department crafts ambitious safari plans. The project awaits budget allocation in 2025-26.

Safari Development Plans

Chief Minister Hemant Soren initiated the project. The Tourism Department collaborates with Forest officials.

Meanwhile, officials study existing models. They recently visited Rajgir’s safari facilities.

“These safaris will offer unique wildlife experiences,” a senior tourism official stated. The focus remains on sustainability.

Project Management Structure

The government plans to revive JETA. This body will oversee all safari operations.

Furthermore, the Chief Secretary will chair the governing body. The Forest Secretary heads the executive wing.

Additionally, an Executive Director manages daily operations. The position requires CCF rank qualification.

Sanctuary Features

Palamu Tiger Reserve attracts tiger enthusiasts. It remains Jharkhand’s sole tiger sanctuary.

Moreover, Dalma showcases its elephant population. Hazaribagh hosts diverse wildlife species.

The facilities include eco-friendly amenities. Local communities receive development opportunities.
