Monali Biswas and Rudra Nil Roy Emerge Victorious at U-11 Chess Championship
Young chess prodigies showcase exceptional skills at East Singhbhum District tournament
Monali Biswas and Rudra Nil Roy have been crowned champions in the Girls’ and Open categories respectively at the East Singhbhum District U-11 Open and Girls Chess Championship. The tournament, organized by the East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA), concluded on May 9 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – The East Singhbhum District U-11 Open and Girls Chess Championship, held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, concluded with Monali Biswas and Rudra Nil Roy emerging as winners in their respective categories. The tournament, organized by the ESDCA, showcased the exceptional skills of young chess prodigies from the region.
In the U-11 girls’ category, Monali Biswas clinched the top position after four rounds of intense competition.
Bidushi Munshi and Naira Aditya secured the second and third spots, respectively, demonstrating their talent and potential.
Other notable players in the top 10 included Eshani Choudhury, Ananta Baranwal, Zaira Ahmad, Chandni Alda, Shreya Dutta, Saanvi Gandhi, and Soujanya Subhasini.
The U-11 Open category saw Rudra Nil Roy showcase exceptional skills over seven rounds to claim victory.
Nishchay Singh Rana put up a strong fight to secure the second position, while Ayush Dey and Mayan Jha grabbed the third and fourth spots, respectively.
Swastik Singh finished in fifth place, followed by Divyansh Agrawal, Yuvansh Bhalotia, Purav Rusabh Gandhi, V. Kartik, and Sachith Arun Harithsa, rounding out the top 10.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest NK Singh, former President of All Jharkhand Chess Association, and Guest of Honour Satbir Singh, a former national cyclist.
NK Tiwary, General Secretary of ESDCA, along with IA Jayant Kr Bhuyan and Chief Arbiter Vishal Kumar Minz, were also present on the occasion.
The tournament provided a platform for young chess enthusiasts to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.
