Contract Worker Takes Own Life After Losing Job Due to Eye Defect
After losing his job due to an eye defect, a contract worker tried to support his family by selling vegetables but eventually committed suicide due to financial distress.
JAMSHEDPUR – A contract laborer from Sidhgora Vijayanagar B Block identified as Sanjay Saha (55) tragically took his own life on Wednesday. His body was found in the evening and was sent for postmortem.
Police reported that the probable reason for his drastic action was his recent job loss. However, they are investigating other aspects as well.
Sanjay worked as a contract laborer in a prominent city company. He lost his job a week ago due to a stated eye defect. This unexpected job loss led to an immediate financial crisis.
Struggling to support himself and his family, Sanjay started selling vegetables in Baridih. Yet, the financial strain continued to haunt him.
Before taking his life on Wednesday, Sanjay participated in the Satyanarayan Puja near his house. He returned home while the rest of the family was away. When the family members returned home around 1:30 PM, they found the door locked from the inside. Upon forcing entry, they discovered Sanjay hanging.
They rushed him to the MGM hospital where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
