JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Benudhar Mahapatra, a retired general physician from Tata Main Hospital (TMH) and a prominent member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), passed away on Monday at the age of 80. Known for his active involvement in IMA events and social service, his demise marks the end of a dedicated medical and humanitarian career.

IMA Secretary Dr. Saurabh Choudhary expressed deep sorrow, highlighting Dr. Mahapatra’s consistent participation in association activities. “He was a source of inspiration for many and actively contributed to every IMA program,” Dr. Choudhary noted.

Life Beyond TMH

Post-retirement, Dr. Mahapatra devoted his time to the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Sonari, where he continued to serve the community selflessly. His contributions extended beyond his medical practice, reflecting his lifelong commitment to social welfare.

Final Farewell

Dr. Mahapatra’s final rites were performed on Tuesday in Puri, Odisha. Condolences poured in from IMA members and the medical community, mourning the loss of a compassionate doctor and a dedicated individual.

This passing leaves behind a legacy of service and inspires others in the medical profession to follow his example of lifelong dedication.
