JAMSHEDPUR – The escalating cold in East Singhbhum district claimed the life of 82-year-old Rasaraj Kumbhakar, a priest at the Mansa Temple in Golkata village, Patamda. According to his family, he was in good health until Thursday when the severe drop in temperature impacted his condition, leading to his demise at home.

The winter chill has been particularly harsh this season, with increasing fatalities among senior citizens. The sudden temperature drop on Thursday proved fatal for Kumbhakar, reflecting the vulnerability of the elderly to severe weather conditions.

Large numbers of people gathered on Friday morning to pay their last respects, and his funeral was conducted the same day.
