Jamshedpur marked the 78th Independence Day with a grand celebration at Gopal Maidan, honoring freedom fighters and highlighting government initiatives.
JAMSHEDPUR – Minister Banna Gupta led the 78th Independence Day celebrations at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, hoisting the national flag amidst a large gathering.
The district-level main function saw Minister Banna Gupta as the chief guest, representing the Jharkhand Government.
A patriotic atmosphere enveloped Gopal Maidan as the tricolor was raised against the morning sky.
Minister Gupta inspected the parade platoon and saluted the national flag, marking the ceremony’s commencement.
Key district officials, including District Magistrate Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal, were in attendance.
The event drew numerous residents from across the district, uniting to commemorate India’s independence.
In his address, Gupta paid homage to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
"We salute the brave sons who gave everything for Mother India," the Minister declared.
He highlighted the contributions of Jharkhand’s heroes like Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Shaheed Tilka Manjhi to India’s freedom struggle.
Gupta outlined various welfare initiatives undertaken by Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government.
The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana and Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana were among the schemes mentioned.
The Minister acknowledged the government’s decisive actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Citations were presented to officers and personnel for outstanding work in various fields.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were conducted across the district at significant locations.
