MEDININAGAR – The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued four child laborers from Daltonganj Railway Station and arrested a man involved in child trafficking. The children, hailing from Dhanbad, were allegedly brought to Palamu for labor work.
While patrolling the station, the RPF team spotted suspicious activity near the parking zone. On approaching the group, officers discovered the children were being transported in a Scorpio vehicle, which was subsequently seized.
Details of the Incident
The children revealed that they had been brought from Dhanbad by train and were intended to work with boring machines in Palamu. The arrested individual, a resident of Amba, Bihar, had reportedly paid ₹5,000 per child to their handler and also arranged their train tickets.
Legal Actions Initiated
Based on a complaint filed by the RPF, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, led by Gulshan Birua, registered an FIR. The accused has been placed under judicial custody, while investigations are underway to identify others involved.
Seized Vehicle and Further Probes
The RPF confiscated a Scorpio vehicle from the parking lot, believed to have been used for transporting the children. Authorities are probing the larger network behind the trafficking scheme.
