CHAKULIA – Forest officials have successfully captured a tigress that had traveled through three states, ending weeks of pursuit and local anxiety.
The tigress, named Jeenat, was finally tranquilized in West Bengal’s Bankura district. Veterinary doctors are monitoring her condition.
Tracking Journey
The big cat’s journey began from Odisha, passing through Jharkhand. She traversed through Gudabanda block before entering West Bengal.
Moreover, forest teams from both Odisha and West Bengal collaborated in the operation. Officials used tranquilizer guns for the capture.
Public Relief
Local residents expressed relief after the capture. The tigress’s presence had caused considerable concern in rural areas.
