CHAKRADHARPUR – Construction work has commenced on a crucial underpass near Chakradharpur’s closed railway gate, marking significant infrastructure development for local commuters.
The engineering team, under DRM Arun J. Rathore’s supervision, has initiated the underpass project with strategic planning. Meanwhile, the railway authorities have implemented a six-hour block on the Mumbai-Howrah route.
Project Funding and Support
The state government has extended support through DMFT funding. Moreover, this initiative aims to address longstanding connectivity issues in the region. “This development will transform daily commuting for thousands of residents,” an official source remarked.
Additional Infrastructure Benefits
The underpass construction aligns with Indian Railways’ broader infrastructure enhancement plans. Furthermore, similar projects across Jharkhand have reduced traffic congestion by 40%.
On the other hand, the Railway Ministry allocated Rs 150 crore for underpasses in 2023-24. Besides, Chakradharpur division completed three major infrastructure projects last year.
