JAMSHEDPUR – A 40-year-old woman sustained severe burns when her saree caught fire while warming herself near a traditional hearth in Govindpur village in Seraikela district on Monday morning.
Dukhni Nayak was warming herself near a fire around 8 AM when the tragic incident occurred. Her family members immediately rushed her to the hospital.
Medical Response
The victim was first taken to Saraikela Sadar Hospital for initial treatment. However, considering the severity of her burns, doctors referred her to MGM Medical College and Hospital.
“My mother was just trying to warm herself near the hearth when this unfortunate incident happened,” said a reliable source close to the family.
