Severe Cold Wave Grips Nine Districts in Jharkhand

RANCHI – The Meteorological Center in Ranchi has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in nine districts of Jharkhand, as temperatures plummet across the state.
The cold wave has tightened its grip on Jharkhand, with Namkum area in Ranchi recording the lowest temperature of 2.5°C in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chaibasa registered the highest temperature at 29.8°C.
“The intensity of the cold wave is likely to increase further due to the strong western winds,” said a senior meteorologist at the Ranchi Meteorological Center.
Districts Under Alert
The yellow alert has been issued for Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ramgarh, Bokaro, and Dhanbad. Moreover, the northwestern districts are particularly affected by the cold wave conditions.
Temperature Variations
Khunti district, adjacent to the capital Ranchi, recorded a minimum temperature of 4.1°C. On the other hand, Jamshedpur registered temperatures between 9.2°C and 26.3°C.
In addition, Lohardaga recorded a maximum temperature of 21.5°C and a minimum of 4.1°C. Furthermore, Ramgarh’s temperatures ranged between 4.8°C and 23.3°C.
