JAMSHEDPUR – The steel city witnessed its coldest morning of the season as temperatures plummeted to 7.9 degrees Celsius amid dense fog conditions.
The biting cold has intensified its grip on the industrial hub. Residents woke up to misty conditions early Monday morning.
“The sudden temperature drop has forced people to bundle up more than usual,” said a local weather expert.
Cold Wave Sweeps Region
Several districts across Jharkhand are experiencing severe cold conditions. Lohardaga recorded the state’s lowest at 4.6 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Bokaro registered 7.1 degrees Celsius. Garhwa followed with 5 degrees Celsius.
Weather Forecast and Precautions
The Meteorological Department has predicted continued cold conditions. An alert for shallow fog remains active for 48 hours.
On the other hand, bright and dry weather is expected during daytime. However, nights will remain chilly.
Moreover, health experts advise special care for children and elderly. Regular hydration and layered clothing are recommended.
“Avoiding prolonged exposure to cold is crucial during these conditions,” emphasized a city-based medical practitioner.
