Women Get Lion’s Share as Finance Minister Unveils Second Supplementary Budget

RANCHI – Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore presented a Rs 11,697.45 crore supplementary budget focusing on women’s welfare.

The women and child development sector dominates the allocations.

“This budget reflects our strong commitment to women’s empowerment,” said a senior government official.

The funds will support crucial welfare schemes.

Major Departmental Allocations

The energy department receives Rs 2,577.92 crore.

Meanwhile, education gets Rs 574.69 crore split between different divisions.

Moreover, home and disaster management secured Rs 445.96 crore.

Key Policy Announcements

The government promises monthly aid of Rs 2,500 under Mainya Samman Yojana.

Additionally, beneficiaries will receive Rs 1,000 through Sarvajan Pension Yojana.

The administration plans 33% reservation for women in government jobs.

Legislative Agenda

The state seeks approval for enhanced quotas for ST, SC and OBCs.

Furthermore, the government will pursue recovery of Rs 1.36 lakh crore from central entities.

The four-day assembly session concludes Thursday with budget discussions.
