Ex-servicemen raise concerns over hospital facilities in Jamshedpur

Key Points:

  • Saryu Rai congratulated at his Bistupur residence by ex-servicemen
  • Lack of priority for ex-servicemen in private security jobs raised
  • Tata Main Hospital not listed under ECHS for seven years

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Rai was honored at his Bistupur residence by members of the ex-servicemen community, congratulating him on his election victory. During the meet, the group expressed their concerns regarding the lack of employment priority for ex-servicemen in security roles at private institutions, including Tata Steel.

The ex-servicemen also highlighted issues with hospital services under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). Presently, only one hospital in Jamshedpur is listed under ECHS, leaving beneficiaries with limited healthcare options. They pointed out that Tata Main Hospital (TMH), the city’s largest and most advanced medical facility, has not been listed under ECHS for the last seven years despite continuous efforts to resolve this.

Later, the group visited Agrico to congratulate Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Das on her victory. The Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad, a welfare organization committed to social and national causes, played a key role in organizing the event.

Prominent members of the organization, including Varun Kumar, Daya Bhushan, SK Singh, Jasveer Singh, Shashi Bhushan Singh, Gautam Lal, Kamlesh Kumar, and others, participated in the event. They urged authorities to prioritize ex-servicemen’s concerns, including healthcare access and employment opportunities.

The ex-servicemen community emphasized the need for immediate solutions to improve the quality of life for veterans residing in Jamshedpur.
