Joint Operation Neutralizes 5 kg IED Targeting Security Teams

CHAIBASA – Security forces neutralized a 5 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites in West Singhbhum’s forested area on Monday. The device was safely destroyed during a joint operation near Chidiabeda and Patatorb under Tonto Police Station limits.

Joint Operation in Naxal Zone

The IED was discovered during an ongoing anti-Naxal drive carried out by district police, CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CoBRA battalion. The explosive was found carefully hidden in the dense forest. Authorities confirmed that the IED was planted to target security personnel patrolling the area.

To prevent any harm, the explosive was neutralized on-site as a precautionary measure. Officials emphasized that the operations in these Naxal-affected areas will continue until the region is cleared of threats.

Ongoing Efforts to Counter Maoist Threat

Security forces have intensified their efforts in West Singhbhum’s forest zones, known for active Naxal presence. Frequent combing operations are being conducted to eliminate any threats posed by Maoist insurgents. Residents in the region have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.

The collaborative operations between various forces reflect the determination to restore peace and safety in the region.
