Health Secretary demands report on MGM Hospital relocation delay

Officials under pressure as January deadline approaches for Dimna facility

Key Points:

  • Shift to new campus misses mid-January timeline for operations
  • Water supply emerges as critical concern for surgical procedures
  • Management scrambles to address resource and equipment shortages

JAMSHEDPUR – Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh has called for a detailed progress report on MGM Hospital’s delayed relocation to Dimna.

The timeline setback has raised administrative concerns. “Immediate action is needed to prevent further delays,” a senior official noted.

Missed Deadlines

The original plan targeted January 15-31 for shifting. Meanwhile, specialized OPDs remain unopened.

Moreover, the Health Secretary’s December inspection set clear directives. However, implementation has fallen behind schedule.

Resource Challenges

Water supply poses a major operational hurdle. Meanwhile, each surgery requires approximately 500 liters of water.

On the other hand, departments receive 3,000 liters each. Furthermore, this allocation may prove insufficient for daily operations.

Administrative Pressure

The management faces increased scrutiny over delays. Meanwhile, equipment procurement continues to pose challenges.

In addition, officials work to resolve infrastructure issues. The project aims to enhance regional healthcare services.
