Police Investigate Possible Suicide or Murder at Manjhna Ghat Bridge

Seraikela – Apprehension gripped the Seraikela area after a man’s body was found hanging from the railing of the Manjhna Ghat new bridge over the Kharkai River. Locals immediately informed former MLA representative Sanand Kumar Acharya, who notified the Seraikela police.

The police quickly arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. The deceased was identified as 43-year-old Ranjit Pati, a resident of Seraikela Pati Tola.

Sequence of Events

According to sources, Ranjit ran a grocery shop and was last seen performing his daily morning routine. After sweeping near his shop, he went for a morning walk towards Manjhna Ghat bridge. Shortly afterward, locals discovered his body hanging from the bridge railing with a rope.

Eyewitnesses claimed a suicide note was tied around his neck inside a polythene bag. However, the contents of the note have not been revealed yet.

Investigation Underway

The police are treating the incident as suspicious and are investigating both suicide and murder angles. Authorities have initiated inquiries to uncover the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.

Ranjit is survived by his wife and two young children. The news has left the family and residents in shock and mourning.

The discovery of the body has raised concerns among local residents. Many gathered at the scene, speculating about the cause of death and demanding a thorough investigation. Police have assured that they will examine all evidence to determine whether foul play was involved.
