ACB arrests Junior Engineer posted at Bodam BO for seeking bribe

Jamshedpur: A junior engineer posted in Jamshedpur Bodam block office, S Rana, was arrested Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team for taking a bribe of ₹15,000 from a women’s self-help group.

The incident relates to the construction work being undertaken under the Nana Ghat scheme in Tildih village of Madhavpur panchayat of Bodam block.

The women’s SHG responsible for the construction work was asked to pay a bribe in exchange for payment of the bill.

The matter was brought to the attention of ACB, and after conducting an investigation, the complaint was found to be valid.

The ACB team, led by Dy SP Amit Mahato, conducted a raid and arrested S Rana on Thursday.
