Massive Rail Regulation: East Coast Railway Alters Schedule Due to Works in Khurda Division

In a significant move towards enhancing railway infrastructure, a series of developmental works in the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has necessitated the temporary regulation of various trains.

Jamshedpur: A number of trains have been canceled between August 11 to 14 due to developmental works in Khurda Division of East Coast Railway.

As per Railways press release, from the 11th to the 14th of August 2023, a total of six trains, including Balasore-Bhubaneswar-Balasore Passenger Special and Santragachi-Puri Special, will remain canceled.

Short Termination/Short Origination

The Puri-Rourkela-Puri Express will witness short termination and origination from Bhubaneswar New from 12th to 14th August 2023.

Diversion of Trains

A host of trains including the Howrah-Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express and the New Delhi-Puri Express will run on diverted routes. The altered routes will include stoppages at Kapilas Road and Naraj Marthapur, affecting the journey commencing dates ranging from 10th to 14th August 2023.

The 18409 Shalimar-Puri Shri Jagannath Express will run on a diverted route via Kapilas Road-Salagaon-Naraj Marthapur-Barang, among other alterations in the schedule.

The complete list of diversions has been announced by the railways to accommodate the development works without causing substantial disruptions to the passengers.

Railway officials said that these temporary changes are aimed at enabling crucial upgrades and maintenance work within the Khurda Road Division, a key part of the East Coast Railway’s network.

Passengers have been advised to check the official railway website or contact customer service for detailed information regarding the changes to ensure a smooth travel experience during this period.
