MEDININAGAR – In a major success against the outlawed Naxalite group TSPC, Palamu police arrested a key commander, Jitendra Kumar Singh, also known as ‘Mantri Ji’ or ‘Abhiyanta’.
The accused is a resident of Salaiya village under the remote Naudihabazar police station in Palamu district. Jitendra has been implicated in several major Naxalite incidents, including attacks on police personnel.
Acting on intelligence, Palamu police launched a search operation in the Barakhad area under Naudihabazar police station. The operation, led by Naudihabazar Station In-Charge Amit Kumar Dwivedi, resulted in Jitendra’s arrest.
Palamu ASP (Operations) Rakesh Kumar Singh confirmed Jitendra’s involvement in past Naxalite operations. “In October, during an encounter in Naudiha Bazar, Jitendra was an active member of the TSPC squad. His role in multiple incidents has now been established,” ASP Singh stated.
Initially, Jitendra was a supporter of Naxalite groups, supplying essential materials to their cadres. Over time, he became actively involved and joined TSPC under the leadership of sub-zonal commander Nagina.
Police sources revealed that Jitendra’s arrest is expected to weaken the TSPC network in Palamu. Security forces have intensified operations to root out remaining members in the region.
Palamu police have been relentless in their efforts to counter Naxalite activities, ensuring better law and order in the region.
