KANDRA – A 53-year-old man sustained severe injuries while attempting to switch train coaches near Mundatand Outer on the Kandra-Chaibasa rail route on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when Duryodhan Singh, a resident of Jimjori village in Odisha, was traveling to Rourkela aboard the Bahalda Road-Rourkela Express.
Accident Details
The train halted near Sini Junction, prompting Singh to disembark to move to another coach. Unfortunately, he fell and was caught under the moving train. Following the mishap, local authorities alerted the station master, and the railway police promptly arrived at the scene.
Medical Assistance
Singh was rushed to Sadar Hospital in Seraikela by the railway police. Doctors provided initial treatment before referring him to MGM Hospital for advanced care.
Authorities have urged passengers to exercise caution while switching train coaches, especially during halts at unscheduled locations.
