Power Infrastructure Gets Major Upgrade Under Central Government’s Re-Vamp Scheme

JAMSHEDPUR – Adityapur’s power distribution system undergoes significant modernization with smart meter installation and infrastructure upgrades starting next month.

The initiative encompasses 31,000 domestic connections.

Moreover, 3,000 commercial and 800 industrial consumers will benefit from this upgrade.

Meanwhile, the project includes installation of 250 additional transformers.

Furthermore, existing overhead lines will be converted to Aerial Bunch cables.

On the other hand, the 33 KVA and 11 KVA feeders will be segmented for better efficiency.

In addition, various areas will see underground cable installation where required.

The project stems from a detailed report submitted in December 2021.

Besides, smart meters aim to eliminate billing disputes and enhance transparency.

Meanwhile, Electrical Executive Engineer Anup Prasad confirmed the preliminary survey’s completion.

A technical expert mentioned that the upgrade would significantly reduce power distribution losses.
