Special drive launched for arms and rash driving checking

City police vigilant to curb crime at year-end

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has launched an intensive arms checking drive in the urban areas. Keeping the rising crime graph in the city and the oncoming year-end celebrations, this intensive arms and vehicle checking drive has been launched in the city.

It is normal for the city police to carry out such special checking drives at year-end and start of the new year. In the past, city police have achieved good success in containing crime during the year-end celebrations. The City SP himself is leading the monitoring of such drives.

Check points in different parts of the city have been activated and the car and bike drivers are being checked and frisked randomly.

Till now, the checking is limited to arms and weapons, but now, rash driving, drunken driving etc too would be controlled.

Anyone found guilty of drunken driving would be nabbed and punished, the officer-in-charge of Sakchi police station said.
