RANCHI – Chinese Consul General in Kolkata, Xu Wei, visited Ranchi on Friday to meet with the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) at Chamber Bhavan.

The meeting explored Jharkhand’s economic landscape, focusing on its industrial infrastructure, skilled labor force, and opportunities for trade and investment.

Xu Wei praised Jharkhand’s favorable business environment and expressed interest in understanding the resources needed for economic growth.

He highlighted China’s ongoing economic reforms and the potential benefits for global trade partners, emphasizing the importance of fostering India-China economic collaboration.

FJCCI President Paresh Gattani outlined Jharkhand’s progress in sectors like mining, processing, textiles, silk, horticulture, and agriculture, expressing satisfaction with the state’s investment growth.

Gattani invited China to participate in the upcoming India International Mega Trade Fair to further enhance trade relations.

The Chinese delegation also engaged in discussions about existing foreign investments in Jharkhand and invited FJCCI officials to visit the Consulate General’s office in Kolkata.

FJCCI General Secretary Aditya Malhotra proposed a bilateral trade delegation to China to explore import-export opportunities across various sectors.

During the meeting, the political environment of Jharkhand was briefly discussed, highlighting its impact on trade and investment.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Xu Wei expressing hope for stable and robust India-China relations.

Prominent attendees included FJCCI Vice President Jyoti Kumari, Joint Secretary Vikas Vijayvargiya, and other Chinese Consulate officials.
