Man Drowns While Bathing in Beldih Lake, Investigation Underway

Sarfaraz Ali, a 32-year-old local resident, died due to drowning while bathing in Beldih Lake. Police have taken the body into custody for investigation.

JAMSHEDPUR – A 32-year-old man, Sarfaraz Ali alias Chandu, tragically drowned while bathing in Beldih Lake, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bistupur police station.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, and local people promptly informed the police.

The police arrived at the scene and recovered the body from the lake at 9 pm.

The body has since been taken into custody and kept in the post-mortem house’s cold room for further examination.

Sarfaraz, a resident of Kadma Shastri Nagar block number 3, used to frequent the lake daily for bathing. On the fateful day, he was bathing in the lake with his son when the incident happened.

In her statement, Kausar Jahan, Sarfaraz’s mother, revealed that Sarfaraz lived separately with his wife and children, while she resided in Dhatkidih.

She mentioned that for the past few days, Sarfaraz had been visiting her house early in the morning around five and would sleep there.

However, on this particular day, he did not return home, and she later received the news of his tragic death.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter to unravel the circumstances leading to Sarfaraz’s unfortunate demise.
