BJP Alleges Irregularities in JPSC 14th Civil Service PT Result

RANCHI – Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jharkhand chief spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Sunday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the result of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s 14th Civil Service preliminary examination.
Shahdeo made the demand shortly after the JPSC prelims result was declared. He alleged that the commission functioned under the protection of the Hemant Soren government.
According to Shahdeo, the commission has become a symbol of disorder, opacity and disregard for students’ futures rather than merit. He said 2,204 candidates were declared successful for 103 posts.
However, the cutoff marks were not released along with the result. Shahdeo further alleged that signatures of all three commission members were missing from the document.
He said the merit list itself raised serious questions. Meanwhile, Shahdeo claimed that competitive examinations in Jharkhand have turned into tests of uncertainty and mental harassment rather than talent.
He said examinations are often delayed for years, and when results finally arrive, they get mired in controversy. Besides, he cited recurring problems including wrong model answers, missing cutoffs and unsigned merit lists.
“It will not be an exaggeration to call the JPSC a ‘Jharkhand’s Future Destruction Commission’ and a ‘Jharkhand Examination Crisis Commission,’” Shahdeo said.
The BJP demanded that the JPSC prelims exam be cancelled and the government recommend a CBI inquiry. Moreover, the party sought a CBI investigation into other recent disputed examinations and results conducted by the commission.
The party also demanded that the complete process of cutoff and merit determination, along with evaluation details, be made public. In addition, it demanded strict action against officials found responsible.
The JPSC had declared the 14th Civil Service preliminary examination result on July 3, with online applications for the main examination scheduled to begin the same day.
