JAMSHEDPUR – On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, the BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha paid homage to Dharti Aaba Birsa Munda by garlanding his statue near the Eye Hospital in Sakchi on Friday.

The event, chaired by BJP ST Morcha Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Ramesh Baske, remembered Birsa Munda’s relentless fight against the British colonial regime and feudal oppression.

Speakers emphasized the need for a new social awareness movement to address contemporary challenges faced by the tribal community.

Raising concerns over alleged conspiracies involving Bangladeshi infiltrators marrying tribal women to acquire land, described as "Love and Land Jihad," the Morcha resolved to run a mass awareness campaign to educate and unite the tribal population.

Prominent attendees included State Minister Kusum Purti, Vijay Gound, Deepak Sundi, Sanjay Munda, Viren Murmu, Akash Bodra, Sushil Hesa, Vinod Omang, Lakhan Samad, and Viren Mahato.

The leaders urged the tribal community to embrace Birsa Munda’s ideals and work collectively to safeguard their cultural identity, land, and rights.
