JAMSHEDPUR – A confrontation broke out between Congress and AIMIM supporters outside polling station number 345 at Urdu School in Bawangora, located in Jamshedpur West’s Azadnagar area, resulting in injuries to supporters from both parties.
AIMIM candidate Babar Khan claimed that Congress supporters were attempting to influence voters, which led to a protest from AIMIM supporters and ultimately escalated into a physical altercation.
According to Sarfaraz, a Congress supporter, he and his team were merely distributing voter slips when AIMIM candidate Babar Khan and his supporters arrived and attacked them.
The scuffle left AIMIM’s Tahseen Hashmi and Congress supporter Kaleem injured.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and City Superintendent of Police (SP) arrived at the scene and dispersed the crowd, restoring calm.
Both groups subsequently filed complaints at Azadnagar police station.
