Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Jantantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) workers demonstrated in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday demanding repair of the dilapidated road leading from Khasmahal to Govindpur.
During this, the workers expressed their displeasure over the poor condition of the road and demanded the administration to start the repair work soon.
The protesters said that the Khasmahal-Govindpur road, especially in Rahargora area, has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Due to huge potholes on the road, local people, school children, employed employees and drivers are facing difficulties every day.
Due to the poor condition of the road, there is a constant risk of accidents.
Morcha leaders said that the situation becomes more serious during the rainy season. Due to water logging, road traffic is affected and people have to travel at risk.
He said that it is an important connectivity road of the area, but it has been neglected for years.
After the demonstration, the JKM delegation submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding immediate inspection of the road and starting the repair and reconstruction work soon.
The organization warned that if the administration did not take any concrete steps soon, a phased movement would be started.
