Thieves Steal Property Worth ₹17 Lakh, Take CCTV DVR

Three apartments in Medininagar robbed during Chhath festival absence

Key Points:

– Thieves rob ₹17 lakh in cash and valuables from three flats

– Incident took place near Redma on Ranchi Road in Medininagar

– Thieves also stole CCTV DVR, hindering police investigation

JAMSHEDPUR – Families celebrating Chhath festival returned to find their Medininagar apartments robbed of property worth ₹17 lakh.

In Medininagar’s Redma area, burglars looted three adjacent flats near Awadh International Public School.

The theft involved valuables worth ₹15 lakh and ₹2 lakh in cash. The residents, Devendra Nath Chaubey and two tenants, Abhay Tiwari and Vikas Tiwari, had traveled to their hometowns for Chhath Puja. Upon their return, they discovered the theft and filed a complaint at the Medininagar police station.

According to Abhay Tiwari, CCTV footage was accessible on his phone until 11 p.m. on Thursday night, when everything appeared normal. On Friday morning, he noticed that the inner grill lock was broken, though the main door remained locked. Inside, valuables were missing, and items were scattered across the floor.

The burglars also took the CCTV DVR, hampering police efforts to identify them. Medininagar police, led by Station Head Devvrat Poddar, arrived on-site and launched a search operation with sniffer dogs but have not yet found any leads. The stolen items include electronic devices such as a computer and laptop, along with other valuables.
