Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mazdoor Union would hold a one-day protest and sit-in on January 26 against Tata Steel’s alleged anti-adivasi and anti-moolvasi policies. The sit-in would be held at Bhuiyandih Durga Puja Grounds soon after the Republic Day flag-hoisting.
Jharkhand Mazdoor Union has launched a phased agitation against Tata Steel and this sit-in on Republic Day would be the next phase of the agitation.
Announcing the decision to hold a sit in against the company management, the central president of the union and former minister of Jharkhand Dulal Bhuiyan said that Tata Steel has been depriving the Adivasis and original inhabitants of the land of jobs and employment opportunities under a well-planned design.
He said that Jharkhand Mazdoor Union has decided to hold a sit-in on Republic Day to voice its protest against the policies of the company.
He said that soon after the flag hoisting, hundreds of Harijans, Dalits, Adivasis and Moolvasis would sit on a one-day dharna against Tata Steel management.
He appealed to the workers to make the sit-in a big success.
