JAMSHEDPUR – Congress candidate Dr. Ajoy Kumar gained enthusiastic support during his campaign in Jamshedpur East on Friday, where residents rallied behind his pledges for local improvements.

Campaigning through Moharda’s Ramaney Flats, Vijaya Garden, and Baridih’s neighborhoods, Dr. Kumar listened as residents raised concerns about inadequate civic facilities.

Many voiced their frustration over long-standing water shortages and a lack of basic services, attributing these to unfulfilled promises over the last 25 years. Voters expressed confidence in Dr. Kumar, citing his integrity and achievements during his parliamentary tenure.

Addressing residents, Dr. Kumar promised to prioritize clean drinking water, sanitation, and ownership rights for slum areas. "If elected, I will work tirelessly to meet the needs of this community,” he said, emphasizing plans to bring high-quality civic services to underserved areas. Dr. Kumar also announced plans for CBSE-standard schools, regular medical camps, and job creation initiatives.

Programs to strengthen women’s safety and financial independence would be part of his development agenda, he added.
