JAMSHEDPUR – In Jamshedpur’s Sonari locality, a man was arrested on Monday evening for allegedly killing his wife with an axe after a heated argument.
The incident took place in Panchvati Nagar, where 22-year-old Chandramani Murmu reportedly insisted on visiting a fair in Karandih, which her husband, S. Murmu, opposed.
According to police, the argument escalated, leading S. Murmu to strike his wife with an axe in a fit of rage, resulting in her death on the spot.
Police quickly responded to the scene, taking the suspect into custody and recovering the blood-stained axe used in the attack.
During interrogation, S. Murmu admitted that the dispute began when his wife expressed her desire to go to the fair despite his refusal.
Following this, police sent the victim’s body for post-mortem and are continuing their investigation into the case.
