JAMSHEDPUR – A three-day inter-school football tournament began on Tuesday at Kashidih High School, with 32 teams from 16 schools competing in various categories.
The event, organized by Jamshedpur’s Yoga Federation, includes senior and junior male and female teams. Kashidih High School’s sports teacher, Tumpa Kumari, shared that this annual competition serves as a platform to identify promising players for advanced training.
According to Kumari, players selected from the tournament receive further support and training with assistance from Tata Steel, helping them improve their skills for future competitions. The first match of the tournament was played between two schools, with more exciting games scheduled over the three-day event.
The tournament aims to foster sportsmanship and provide better opportunities for young athletes in the region.
