Tata Steel Women’s Lagori Tournament Crowns Champions
Iron Making team clinches victory in inter-divisional competition
Jamshedpur witnesses fierce competition as female employees showcase their Lagori skills at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex buzzed with excitement as Tata Steel’s Sports Department wrapped up its Inter-Divisional Lagori Tournament for women.
The two-day event, held on July 25-26, saw participation from 270 employees representing 19 different units of the steel giant.
In a display of skill and teamwork, the Iron Making division emerged victorious, outperforming their colleagues from other departments.
"The tournament showcased the sporting talent within our workforce," remarked Neelam Kumari, Sr. Manager of Accounts & Establishment, who graced the event as Chief Guest.
The General Office team secured the runner-up position, while West Bokaro claimed the third spot in the closely contested tournament.
A panel of experienced officials, including Firoze Khan and Arshad Ali, ensured fair play throughout the competition.
"This event not only promotes physical fitness but also strengthens bonds across divisions," shared Sanjeev Kumar, Manager Sports at Tata Steel.
The tournament highlighted Tata Steel’s commitment to employee wellness and team building through sports initiatives.
Participants expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to represent their units and engage in friendly competition with colleagues.
