NDA Finalizes Seat-Sharing for Jharkhand Assembly Polls

BJP to Contest 68 Seats, AJSU Gets 10 in 81-Member Assembly

RANCHI – The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has unveiled its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest 68 seats in the 81-member assembly.

Moreover, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) has been allocated 10 seats.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP’s Jharkhand election co-incharge, announced the coalition’s strategy.

Furthermore, the Janata Dal-United (JDU) will field candidates in two constituencies.

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) has been given one seat to contest.

"We’ve reached a consensus on seat distribution," Sarma stated at a press conference.

He added, "Minor adjustments may be made based on the INDIA bloc’s declarations."

AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto and other party leaders attended the announcement event.

Additionally, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chouhan was present at the occasion.

The JDU will contest from Jamshedpur West and Tamar (ST) constituencies.

Meanwhile, LJP (R) has been allocated the Chatra (SC) seat.

Saryu Roy, sitting Jamshedpur East MLA, is expected to contest from Jamshedpur West.

On the other hand, the candidate for Jamshedpur East remains undecided.

The election will take place in two phases on November 13 and November 20.

However, the NDA remains in ‘wait and watch’ mode regarding final candidate lists.

The nomination filing process for the first phase began on Friday.

In conclusion, the election results will be declared on November 23.
