Sonari police arrest one for bike-theft, 5 stolen bikes recovered
Jamshedpur: Sonari police have cracked a bike theft case and arrested one accused Lakhan Mahali alias Gajendra Mahali from Khuntadih. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the accused while he was roaming around in a suspicious condition in Khuntadih.
The arrested accused is stated to be a resident of Bhojdih village under the jurisdiction of Bundu police station. The police have sent the accused to judicial custody.
The Sonari police have also recovered at least five stolen bikes from his possession. Besides, a bunch of keys and an iron rod was also recovered. Police said that the accused used these implements in breaking the locks of the vehicles he stole.
Police sources said at least six criminal cases are already registered against the accused in Sonari police station. The police said that the accused has criminal antecedents and now the they are trying to nab his accomplices too.
The Dy SP said that the accused sells the stolen bikes in areas like Bundu and Tamar.
