JAMSHEDPUR – Baharagora resident Rajkishore Mahapatra tragically died on Wednesday night after being electrocuted while repairing a faulty household electrical connection.
His sister, Phool Kumari Mahapatra, was also injured after attempting to save him and is currently receiving treatment at the Baharagora Community Health Center.
The incident occurred when Rajkishore came into contact with a live wire during the repair work.
Phool Kumari, standing nearby, was shocked when she tried to pull the wire from the board.
Local residents rushed both siblings to the community health center, where doctors declared Rajkishore dead.
Baharagora MLA Sameer Kumar Mohanty and former MLA Kunal Sarangi visited the hospital, expressing grief over the incident and checking on Phool Kumari’s condition.
Local leaders, including Munna Hota, Madan Manna, and others, were present to offer support to the family.
