"His departure is an irreparable loss for the country," the Governor stated.

Ratan Tata’s career had deep roots in Jamshedpur.

He began with a six-month training at Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company.

Tata later worked with Tata Steel in various capacities.

In 1965, he joined TISCO’s Engineering Department as a technical officer.

Tata’s last visit to Jamshedpur was on Foundation Day, March 3, 2021.

During this visit, he was accompanied by Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran.

Tata Steel MD T.V. Narendran welcomed them to the city.

The visit included attending a light show at Jubilee Park.

Tata also participated in Tata Steel Company’s main function.

His affection for Jharkhand extended beyond business interests.

In 2018, Tata laid the foundation for a cancer hospital in the state.

This healthcare initiative aimed to serve the people of Jharkhand.

The hospital’s construction is ongoing and nearing completion.

Once finished, it will be Northeast India’s largest cancer hospital.
