JAMSHEDPUR – East Singhbhum Netball Association organized its inaugural netball training camp and exhibition match at People’s Academy Plus Two High School.
The one-day event marked netball’s introduction to the district.
Players from eight schools participated in both boys’ and girls’ categories.
School principal Chandradeep Pandey inaugurated the event with enthusiasm.
He highlighted netball’s growing popularity in India and its global appeal.
Moreover, Pandey predicted the sport’s rise in local schools and colleges.
Former education officer and MLA representative SP Singh attended as a special guest.
Chief trainer W. Rehman led the comprehensive introduction to the game.
District Secretary Rajesh Thakur and other trainers taught players netball rules and techniques.
The day culminated in exhibition matches between participating school teams.
Over 80 players and eight coaches took part in the training camp.
Furthermore, the event received praise for its organization and execution.
Principal Pandey and District Netball Association officials were thanked for their efforts.
Following Durga Puja, district-level competitions are being planned.
These competitions will feature teams from approximately 15 schools.
Both urban and rural areas will be represented in the upcoming tournaments.
