Election Commission to Review Jharkhand Poll Preparedness

Two-Day Visit to Ranchi Starts September 23

RANCHI – The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to conduct a two-day review of Jharkhand’s election readiness starting Monday, September 23.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar will lead the visiting team to Ranchi.

The delegation includes two other Election Commissioners for this crucial assessment.

Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct is expected to be implemented in the near future.

On Monday, the team will meet with Jharkhand’s chief secretary and director general of police.

Additionally, discussions with representatives from various political parties are scheduled.

The commission will also hold a meeting with officials from 21 enforcement agencies.

Furthermore, an evening session with the Chief Electoral Officer and Nodal Officers is planned.

Tuesday’s agenda includes talks with zonal IGs, DIGs, and divisional commissioners.

District-level officials, including SPs and DCs, will participate in the Tuesday meeting.

This comprehensive review aims to ensure thorough preparation for the upcoming assembly elections.

The ECI’s visit underscores the importance of electoral readiness in Jharkhand.

On the other hand, the meetings with diverse stakeholders highlight the inclusive approach to election planning.

By engaging with both state and district-level officials, the ECI seeks a comprehensive understanding.

The visit is expected to address various aspects of election management and security.
